Aarti (Wavering of light before God)

‘Aarti’ means to meet somebody with great curiosity, ‘Aarti’ means love in totality. Under the name of ‘Aarti’ we see auspicious parts of our Thakorji. Here the words ‘Aa-Rati’. It is ‘Aarti’ when we keep hands over it. “Our Aarti” towards Thakorji is fulfilled when we obtained the vision of every part sub part of auspicious body of Shree Thakorji.

In ‘Maryada Path-Marga’ the God is honoured with the help of the lamps of ‘Aa-rati’. The lamp becomes ‘Prasadi’ (an object enjoyed by God) as it was an instruments of respect towards God. The inner spirit behind placing hand over ‘Prasadi lamp’ is the lamp also might illumine us. In ‘Pushtipath’ there exists already the feeling of respect towards God, moreover, the feelings of curiosity and earnestness that arose in our heart on account of not obtaining the vision of God, have resulted in fulfillment. Then the question of placing our hands on it is not necessary. As our mind is already illumined by it, the question of placing overhands on the lamp in ‘Pushti-Marga’ does not arise or it is not necessary or essential.

In summer, we do not take eight wicks or sixteen wicks. Our Thakorji will experience heat. So only four wicks are lighted. Four wicks are kept at the top most, eight wicks are in the middle, sixteen wicks are kept at the lowest. All the wicks of all parts are not lighted and they all cause heat to our Shri Thakorji. Think of the fact that we take in to consideration the happiness of t he divine, even in the smallest matter pertaining to ‘Aarti’

The models of ‘Aarti’ are kept on the webside every year, we have decided to arrange competition for decoration of ‘Aarti’ with a view to acquaint vaishnavs with the knowledge of ‘Aarti’.
